Coma Berenices (Berenice's Hair)
A small and faint constellation adjacent to Boötes, introduced by Tycho Brahe in about 1602. It is supposed to represent the tresses of Queen Berenice of Egypt, who cut off her hair and presented it to the gods in gratitude for the safe return of her husband from battle. The constellation is notable for the large number of galaxies it contains, members of both the Coma and Virgo clusters of galaxies.
